SUBJECT: Marine Institute hosts Remembrance Day ceremony Nov. 10
DATE: November 8, 2010
The Fisheries and Marine Institute (MI) of Memorial University of Newfoundland will host a Remembrance Day ceremony on Wednesday, Nov. 10, at 11 a.m.
The ceremony will take place at the Merchant Navy and Navy Memorial directly in front of the main entrance of the Marine Institutes Ridge Road campus.
Members of the media are invited to attend.
During the ceremony, wreaths will be laid by a number of groups and associations, including the Marine Institute; Memorial University; the Company of Master Mariners; the Canadian Institute of Marine Engineers; Canadian Forces-Naval Engineering School (St. Johns detachment); the Canadian Merchant Navy Veterans Association NL Branch; HMCS-CABOT; Canadian Forces Station-St. Johns; the Marine Institute Student Union; and the Crows Nest Officers Club.
Canadian Forces students from the Marine Institutes Marine Engineering Technical Training Program and the Naval Combat Systems Technical Training Program will also take part in the ceremony.
Following the service, a reception will be held inside the Marine Institute.
