SUBJECT: Reminder: Memorial University to launch new online research and expertise directory

Officials from Memorial University, the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador and members of the community, will officially launch Memorial University’s new online research and expertise directory on Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2009. Acting President Dr. Eddy Campbell and Susan Sullivan, minister of Human Resources, Labour and Employment, among others, will be attending.
Starting at 10 a.m., the video conferenced ceremony will span two university campuses and into Labrador: in the D.F. Cook Recital Hall, Music Building, St. John’s campus; Fine Arts lecture theatre (F-A224), Sir Wilfred Grenfell College, Corner Brook, and boardroom (room 120), Labrador Institute, College of the North Atlantic, Happy-Valley-Goose Bay.
Media agencies are encouraged to send representatives. Editors should note that one component of this new online database replaces the Book of Experts widely used by reporters as a reference guide and source of experts.
Parking will be available in area 15, located to the east of the Music Building on the St. John’s campus, and in areas P2.1, P3.2 and P4 on the Corner Brook Campus.
