News Release
REF NO.: 184
SUBJECT: Memorial University launches unique advertising and promotional campaign
DATE: June 16, 2009
Note to editors:
Memorial University of Newfoundland will take to the skies – quite
literally – of St. John’s this evening as it promotes the release of its Research Report 2009.
The report was launched today during the opening luncheon of the Newfoundland and Labrador Oil and Gas Industries Association’s (NOIA) international petroleum conference in St. John’s.
This evening, as part of a unique advertising and promotional campaign, the university will utilize innovative marketing technology to connect with residents and tourists throughout the capital city.
In what’s likely a first for the province, Memorial will project the message This is the start of something big, along with the web address www.mun.ca/big, onto the sides of large buildings in the city on a schedule of several sites over the next three evenings.
Photographers and videographers should note that the nighttime projections will take place throughout the downtown region between the hours of 9 p.m., and 1 a.m., tonight, Wednesday and Thursday.
Memorial’s Research Report 2009 focuses on major activities at the university from the previous year.
