SUBJECT: Grenfell: Chemistry professor off to China

Dr. Sudhir B. Abhyankar, associate professor of chemistry in Grenfell's environmental science program has been invited to join a delegation of chemistry professionals from Canada to visit China.
The delegation, which consists of chemists, chemical engineers and chemical technologists from all sectors of the chemical profession, will visit China from Nov. 9 to 21.
"The trip will provide an opportunity for exchange of ideas on the promotion of global sustainable development and the responsible use of resources between scientists, engineers, business leaders and government advisors in China and Canada," said Dr. Abhyankar.
Topics of discussions include education and sustainable development, environmental sustainability, environmental chemistry and green chemistry. The China experience is being organized by the “People to People Citizen Ambassador Program” of Washington, U.S.A.
Dr. Abhyankar’s participation in this program is supported by a grant from Sir Wilfred Grenfell College and the Centre of Environmental Excellence.
