A Public Forum on Women’s Health will be held Sunday Oct. 14 from 2 to 4 p.m. in Salons C and D at the Fairmont Hotel, St. John’s. The forum will feature four speakers talking about new developments in screening and prevention of breast and cervical cancer, including the new HPV vaccine. The speakers are Dr. Kara Laing, clinical chief of the Cancer Care Program and associate professor in the Faculty of Medicine; Dr. Nancy Wadden, medical director of the Breast Screening Program and associate professor in the Faculty of Medicine; Joanne Rose, program manager of the Provincial Cervical Screening Initiatives; and Dr. Cathy Popadiuk, gynecologic oncologist and associate professor in the Faculty of Medicine. Admission is free and refreshments will be served.
