News Release
REF NO.: 30
SUBJECT:
DATE: October 31, 2007
Members of the public are invited to a free public lecture at 7 p.m. Thursday Nov. 8 at the Junior Common Room, R. Gushue Hall. The lecture is hosted by the Atlantic Seniors Housing Research Alliance (ASHRA) to preview the results of a detailed survey completed by 1,702 Atlantic Canadian seniors about their current housing situation, their community supports and their plans and expectations for the future.
Presented by Dr. Donald Shiner, principal investigator and associate professor at Mount Saint Vincent University, the survey results paint a picture of Atlantic Canadian seniors who are challenged to age in place. The survey provides a glimpse into how the region’s seniors lead their day-to-day lives and the issues society will face in the future in meeting their needs.
Gushue Hall is in the Paton College (residences) complex, located on Irwin’s Rd directly off Prince Phillip Drive. Parking spaces will be available in front of Gushue Hall, as well as, in area 15 behind the building.
