If you see any blade-wielding, self-replicating creatures screaming around Memorial’s St. John’s campus on Friday, don’t be too alarmed. Screamers 2, a feature-length science fiction movie currently being filmed around St. John's, is on campus Friday, Feb. 8, shooting in the utility tunnels near the Engineering Building.
Visitors to the campus community may notice the use of special effects during this film shoot. During the hours of 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. the film crew will be simulating gun fire and explosions. These effects will create loud noises and smoke. The filming is being done under supervision of trained professionals and sanctioned by city emergency personnel. There should not be any interference with campus activities during this film shoot.
Screamers 2 also features Memorial student Stephen Dunn, an actor who has been cast as a screamer in the film.
