The art of project management will once again be the focus of a master’s-certificate-level course being offered by Grenfell College’s Division of Community Education.
A breakfast information session for the Master’s Certificate in Project Management will be held on Thursday, June 12, 8-9 a.m. at Pepsi Centre. Pat Watson, east coast program director, will lead the session, which will include a presentation by two graduates of the 2007 program.
The master’s certificate program is being offered in partnership with the Centre for Management Development, Memorial University, and York University, Schulich Executive Education Centre. The next five-module intensive program will get underway on October 15, 2008.
“Our first offering of this program was a huge success,” says Marilyn Forward, program developer at Community Education. “We have prepared individuals to tackle any significant project. This program is intense and is recognized throughout Canada, covering topics such as team development, effect project cost management, assessing and managing project risk management and project quality.”
More than 3000 project management professionals across Canada have chosen the Master’s Certificate in Project Management to help them achieve the ultimate success in project management – to bring in a project on time, on budget, and within scope.
Gene Coleman, project manager, Coleman Group of Companies, said that if companies are looking to improve organization, reduce risk and ensure an appropriate return on their investment, they should look into the master’s certificate.
“I see this program as a bridge over the inevitable obstacles that arise when projects are undertaken,” he said.
