Memorial students have until Sept. 28, to get their applications in to become a volunteer with a unique program that pairs them up with a high school student to show them what university life is all about.

Organizers of LEAP! – Leadership, Education And Preparation – are now recruiting Memorial student volunteers for its two-day program designed to show potential students what Memorial has to offer. High schoolers learn about the university, its programs and disciplines of study and get a chance to attend classes with post-secondary students.

The goal of the program is to develop leadership qualities in high school students that will encourage them to get involved when they come to Memorial.

The deadline for volunteer applications is Sept. 28.
