SUBJECT: Board of Regents ratifies new collective agreement with MUNFA

Memorial University’s Board of Regents has ratified the new collective agreement with the faculty union (MUNFA).
MUNFA members had voted earlier this week to ratify the tentative agreement it reached with the university in September.
The new collective agreement calls for across the board salary increases that are consistent with those accepted by other university employees, the public sector and other professional groups such as physicians, teachers and nurses (i.e. 0%-0%-3%-3%).
There are also some adjustments made to step increases and salary scales to competitively position Memorial’s faculty salaries with those offered at other comprehensive universities in Canada.
