CORNER BROOK – Sir Wilfred Grenfell College’s English program, in conjunction with this week’s Architecture of the Book Symposium, is pleased to present a reading by Lisa Robertson at Casual Jack’s Roadhouse on Wednesday, March 7 at 5 p.m.
Lisa Robertson is one of Canada’s leading avant-garde poets and essayists whose work has gained an international reputation in recent years. She has worked as a freelance writer and has held positions as writer-in-residence at universities in the United States and the U.K. Her new book of poetry The Men was published by BookThug, Toronto, in 2006. Another recent work, Rousseau's Boat (Nomados Press, Vancouver), one of her twelve chapbooks, was awarded the BP Nichol Chapbook Award in 2005. She has also published numerous works of poetry, and essays and reviews on art and architecture. She now lives in Paris.
Robertson will also be presenting a paper entitled “Spatial Synthetics and Structure in the Artist’s Book” at The Architecture of the Book Symposium at Sir Wilfred Grenfell College on Thursday, March 8.
