SUBJECT: Memorial University announces recipients of the Margaret Williams Trust Fund Award

The Trustees of the Margaret Williams Trust Fund are pleased to announce that the trust has made its 2006 award to Andrea A. Hyde in the amount of $1,500, and a joint award to Lindsay Glynn and Sue Fahey in the amount of $500.
Andrea Hyde is a native of Newfoundland. She holds a bachelor of arts from Memorial (English and Religious Studies) and a bachelor of education (intermediate/secondary) also from Memorial University; she is currently pursuing a master of library and information studies degree at Dalhousie University.
Lindsay Glynn is a public services librarian and instruction co-ordinator at the Health Sciences Library at Memorial University. She is co-founder and editor-in-chief of Evidence Based Library and Information Practice and is currently completing a graduate diploma in clinical epidemiology. Ms. Glynn is a native of Newfoundland and holds a master of library and information studies degree from the University of British Columbia, as well as a bachelor of arts (Linguistics and Sociology) from Memorial.
Sue Fahey is a public services librarian with the Health Sciences Library, Memorial University. Aside from her role as a reference/instruction librarian, she is also co-ordinator of the Newfoundland and Labrador Health Knowledge Information Network (NLHKIN); she has a special interest in information literacy and the role it plays in the delivery of health. Ms. Fahey, also a native of Newfoundland, holds a master of library and information studies degree from McGill, as well as a bachelor of arts (Honours) from Memorial.
Ms. Glynn and Ms. Fahey are working on a joint research project entitled Information Literacy Skills: a comparison of expectations and perceptions between faculty and students in medicine (MUN).
The Margaret Williams Trust Fund Award was established to promote the development of librarianship in Newfoundland and Labrador. Funds are awarded on a competitive basis to applicants seeking funding for library-related projects or assistance in pursuing graduate studies in librarianship, archival studies or teacher librarianship.
