Memorial’s Botanical Garden in St. John’s will celebrate the grand opening of The Bloomin’ Teapot on Sunday, April 24, at 10 a.m. The tea room, located on the Botanical Garden grounds, 306 Mt. Scio Road, is a great place to get away and enjoy fine teas served in china cups, fabulous lunch cuisines, including vegetarian fare, homemade desserts and sweets including fresh baked scones with English clotted cream and jam. On Saturdays and Sundays an all-day breakfast is served, and an English afternoon tea is served daily from 2:30 to 5 p.m. If this is not your “cup of tea”, patrons can also choose from fine wines, English and local beer. Members of the public are invited to join in the merriment of the grand opening this Sunday and enjoy scone sampling, complementary tea, giveaways and grand opening specials.
