SUBJECT: PSA: Ocean Conservation and the Fishery: fisheries expert to launch Ocean Industries Week

Alumni and friends of Memorial University of Newfoundland are invited to celebrate the launch of Ocean Industries Week on Oct. 18, with a special presentation by noted fisheries expert and Fisheries Conservation Chair for the Marine Institute, Dr. George Rose.
The event, which will be held at Hampton Hall, Marine Institute, begins at 8:15 a.m.with coffee and tea, followed at 8:45 a.m. by Dr. Rose’s presentation titled Ocean Conservation and the Fishery. Dr. Rose’s 20-minute presentation will examine issues around conservation in the offshore fishery. The presentation will be followed by a 10-minute question period, after which interested attendees will be given a showcase tour of the Marine Institute.
The event is organized by the office of Alumni Affairs and Development of Memorial University and the City of St. John’s.
