SUBJECT: PSA: Kitchen party will commemorate opening of new Petro-Canada Hall
DATE: March 11, 2005
As part of the Petro-Canada Hall opening celebration events, Memorial’s School of Music is holding a kitchen party at 7 p.m., on Saturday, March 19, 2005. In true kitchen-party style, all performers will share the stage for this high energy performance celebrating the traditional music of Newfoundland and Labrador. Anita Best will host this concert. The house band is being led by Sandy Morris and includes George Morgan, Pat Moran, Billy Sutton and Jason Whelan. The solo performers include Kelly Russell, Christina Smith, Jean Hewson, Baxter Wareham, Linda Slade, Gerald Campbell, Scott Lake, Derek Barron and Harry Martin.
Admission for each performance is $10 for adults, $5 for students and seniors (cash only). Tickets may be reserved on the School of Music Web site at www.mun.ca/music/conc/tkt.htm. Reserved tickets must be picked up no later than a half-hour prior to the start of the performance. After that time all ticket reservations are cancelled and tickets will be sold on a first-come first-served basis.
In the event the Petro-Canada Hall sells-out, the D.F. Cook Recital Hall will be opened to the public to view a live broadcast of the concert on a 12-foot screen. Tickets for the live broadcast will be $5.
