CITL Stakeholder Needs Survey
The Centre for Innovation in Teaching and Learning (CITL) has launched an institutional stakeholder survey, in consultation with the Centre for Institutional Analysis and Planning (CIAP). Our purpose is to learn more about the teaching and learning needs of faculty, instructors, staff, students, and academic leadership. We will use the results to inform ways we can better serve our academic community, the strategic priorities of the university and our mission to “foster a culture of innovation at Memorial University that creates a positive impact on learning experiences”.
CITL Launches Institutional Survey
The Centre for Innovation in Teaching and Learning (CITL) invites Memorial’s faculty, instructors, staff, students, and academic leadership to participate in an institutional survey, administered in consultation with the Centre for Institutional Analysis and Planning. CITL will use the results to inform ways they can better serve our academic community, the strategic priorities of the university and their mission to “foster a culture of innovation at Memorial University that creates a positive impact on learning experiences”. To access the survey, please visit the launch page here (MUN login is required) and click the link for the “CITL Stakeholder Needs Survey”. Participants will have an opportunity to be included in a prize draw for a gift from the Memorial University Bookstore. The survey is open until March 1, 2024.

Holiday hours
Our Support Centre will be closed for the holidays beginning Friday, December 22, and open for limited hours on Thursday, December 28, 12-3 p.m. We will reopen on Tuesday, January 2, 9 a.m.-7 p.m., and will resume regular business hours beginning Wednesday, January 3, 2024.

Nov. 7: Exploring a hyflex model of teaching and learning
Hyflex courses combine face-to-face and online learning and allow students to choose how they participate. On November 7, join Dr. Karen Goodnough as she examines hyflex course design and the affordances and limitations of the hyflex model.

External teaching awards: Call for nomination briefs
Academic units are encouraged to solicit prospective nominees and nominators to submit a nomination brief to us by Oct. 20. Nomination brief templates are available for the Atlantic Association of Universities awards and the 3M National Teaching Fellowship.

A new podcast series with six-episodes themed, “Accessibility in Higher Education”, features the voices of academics, students, administrators and accessibility advocates as they discuss opportunities and challenges in creating equitable and accessible learning experiences for all. AI in education with Jessica Liivlaid, MidSweden University
On Wednesday, May 24, join Jessica Liivlaid, an educator from MidSweden University, for a presentation on AI in education In her presentation, she will share insights on AI language models, potential AI applications for educators and students, using AI in assessment, and the challenges with AI.
