Memorial's Centre for Innovation in Teaching and Learning (CITL) is excited to announce the launch of a new workshop series, scheduled for July and August 2024. The Documenting Teaching for Promotion and Tenure series is intended for faculty members seeking to develop their teaching dossier for promotion and tenure, through first-year review and beyond. These sessions will provide opportunities to learn about teaching dossiers through short presentations, samples from the dossiers of award-winning teachers, writing exercises, discussion and feedback. Whether you have a complete draft of your teaching dossier, or if you are wondering how to get started, this series is for you.

Through participating in the Documenting Teaching for Promotion & Tenure Series, faculty will:

  • Learn about the common components and organizational framework of effective teaching dossiers.
  • Be introduced to the expectations and guidelines outlined in the Collective Agreement on demonstrating teaching effectiveness.
  • Have opportunities to prepare, revise and receive feedback on their teaching dossiers and teaching philosophies.
  • Reflect on their teaching practices and consider methods for future reflections, evidence gathering and teaching development.

This in-person workshop consists of three sessions, scheduled for July 30July 31 and August 1, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. NDT. Register online today, and plan to bring your own device for all three sessions. Enrollment is limited, and a waitlist will be created once spaces are filled. For questions, contact educatordev@mun.ca.
