School of Pharmacy Public Pill Drop
Members of the public are are encouraged to clear out their medicine cabinets and drop off their expired or unused medications for safe, confidential disposal at the School of Pharmacy’s Public Pill Drop.
This event will be held on Saturday, Mar. 9, from 12-4 p.m. on the 3rd floor of the University Centre. The University Centre is located on Arctic Avenue, just off Prince Philip Drive on Memorial University’s St. John’s campus. Parking is available in Lot 16, right next to the University Centre.
Prescription or over-the-counter medications in tablet or capsule form can be collected. Unfortunately, no liquids, creams, gels, or sharps can be accepted.
This event is being held in conjunction with Pharmacist Awareness Month, an initiative of the Canadian Pharmacists Association to improve the public’s understanding of the expanding role of pharmacists. The School of Pharmacy at Memorial is participating by helping to build public awareness regarding the safe disposal of expired or unused medications.
This is a free public service sponsored by Memorial University’s School of Pharmacy and the Canadian Association of Pharmacy Students and Interns and supported by the Pharmacists' Association of Newfoundland and Labrador.
