School of Pharmacy

The program is designed such that pharmacists will feel confident in their knowledge and skills regarding immunization, and intramuscular and subcutaneous injection of medications/vaccines.  Part 2 may be taken alone as a refresher for those who were previously certified.

Part 1 – Online Modules

•  Must complete online modules prior to the hands-on training.
  • CCCEP accredited for 22 CEUs.
  • Consists of 14 core modules covering the Public Health Agency of Canada’s Immunization Competencies for Health Professionals plus a 15^th module for pharmacists “Essential Competencies for Injection of Other Substances (AB, NB, NL, NS and ON)”. 
  • As the modules are comprehensive, they require significant time to complete and should be started as soon as possible. 
  • Cost $200 + tax (paid online)

Part 2 – Hands on Training at the School of Pharmacy

•  Date: September 9, 2017
• Time: 9:00 am to 4:30 pm
• Location:  Professional Practice Lab, School of Pharmacy, St. John’s
• Certification involves administering one intramuscular injection and one subcutaneous injection into another participant.
• CCCEP accredited for 7.5 CEUs.
• Cost $405 (injection kit included) payable by cheque or money order to MUN School of Pharmacy.
