Injection Training Program session: Oct 10, St. John's
The School of Pharmacy is offering a comprehensive injection training program for pharmacists. The program is designed such that pharmacists will feel confident in their knowledge and skills regarding immunization, and intramuscular and subcutaneous injection of medications/vaccines.
Part 1 – Online Modules
- Must complete online modules from Advancing Practice prior to the hands-on training.

- CCCEP accredited for 22 CEUs.
- Consists of 14 core modules covering the Public Health Agency of Canada’s Immunization Competencies for Health Professionals plus a 15th module for pharmacists “Essential Competencies for Injection of Other Substances (AB, NB, NL, NS and ON).
- As the modules are comprehensive, they require significant time to complete and should be started as soon as possible.
- Cost $200 + tax (paid online)
Part 2 – Hands on Training at the School of Pharmacy
- Date: October 10th, 2015
- Time: 9:00 am to 4:30 pm
- Location: Professional Practice Lab, School of Pharmacy, St. John’s
- Certification involves administering one intramuscular injection and one subcutaneous injection into another participant.
- CCCEP accredited for 7.5 CEUs.
- Cost $405 (injection kit included) payable by cheque or money order to MUN School of Pharmacy.
