Foundation for the Future
Throughout the 2016-17 academic year the School of Pharmacy community paved the road and established landmarks for the future.
We constructed the inaugural class for our Entry-to-Practice Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program. Approval of the Doctor of Pharmacy for Working Professionals program was monumental. Our graduate program has escalated from bungalow to two-story – having doubled in the past two years, in large part thanks to the initiatives of our students.
Launching significant research studies within the Medication Therapy Services (MTS) Clinic, including a deprescribing program and a transition study, are all new establishments. The research in our school builds on one or more focus areas: drug discovery and delivery, health outcomes, and teaching and learning.
We retreated to lay the building blocks of our 2017–22 Strategic Plan. Our mission? To foster excellence in pharmacy education, practice and research in partnership with the broader community, preparing graduates to be leaders, innovators and inter-professional collaborators.
