Dr. Lisa Bishop receives Quick Start grant
Dr. Bishop’s project, entitled, “Empowering a community to tackle youth mental health and addictions challenges”, focuses on a Memorial University medicine clinic and a small urban community, who are collaborating on a community-based participatory research (CBPR) project to explore the needs of the youth in the community. The goal is to develop a tailored community-based program using a coordinated community-based strategy to achieve long-term benefits on population health and wellbeing.
Along with Stephen Darcy (Faculty of Medicine) and Harold Druken (Community Board representative), Dr. Bishop will present at 11:00 am at the Arts and Culture Centre tomorrow (Wednesday, February 12) as part of Engage Memorial Fest.
Earlier this month, Dr. Bishop was named a Fellow at the 2014 Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists’ Professional Practice Conference (PPC) conference in Toronto, and received the Isabel E. Stauffer Meritorious Service Award.
Congratulations to Dr. Bishop on her outstanding contributions to health care and wellness in Newfoundland and Labrador!
