SUBJECT: PSA: World Oceans Day free family event on June 1

Have you ever touched a sea cucumber or heard the sound of whales communicating? Ever wanted to explore a fisheries patrol boat or pilot an underwater ROV?
You can do that and more when you bring the whole family to the World Oceans Day free family event at the Marine Institute at 155 Ridge Rd. in St. John’s on Saturday, June 1, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
You can also talk with experts about whales, seals and sharks. Learn how to keep plastic out of the ocean. Discover how to upcycle your old T-shirt in the Better Bag Challenge.
