SUBJECT: PSA: SPARKS Literary Festival to take place this weekend
DATE: January 24, 2018
Memorial University’s Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences is sponsoring the ninth annual SPARKS Literary Festival on Sunday, Jan. 28 from 10:30 a.m.-6 p.m. in the Suncor Energy Hall, School of Music.
The festival is divided into four sessions, each of which will consist of a mix of various genres and a combination of readings and discussion. Authors taking part include Shara Bala, Colin Barrett, Stan Dragland, Alison Dyer, Robert Finley, Jamie Fitzpatrick, Sue Goyette, Pam Hall, El Jones, Andrew Loman, Lisa Moore, Michael Redhill, Anna Swanson, Mary Walsh and Heidi Wicks.
Books will be available for sale and local magazines and publishers will be displaying material. An evening reception will follow the day-long event.
Admission is free and parking will be available in lot 15B.
In addition to the readings and exhibits, the winner of the annual Cox & Palmer SPARKS Creative Writing Award will be announced at the conclusion of the festival.
