News Release
REF NO.: 29
SUBJECT: Merry and Bright Holiday Light Festival at Memorial University Botanical Garden
DATE: November 24, 2017
Memorial University’s Botanical Garden is happy to announce that it is almost time to turn on the lights of a new holiday tradition.
The Merry and Bright Festival is an invitation to the community to experience the garden in a whole new way.
After an overwhelming response last year, the garden is thrilled to announce it will host the festival for more nights with more lights to see. Highlights include a caterpillar of lights, a glamorous gazebo, Christmas gnomes, sparkling lights, glowing candles and more.
The festival will span 15 nights over a three-week period: Nov. 29-Dec. 3, Dec. 6-10 and Dec.13-17. Doors will open at 6 p.m.
New this year, a complimentary shuttle service will be available on select evenings. The shuttle will pick up and drop off ticket holders every 15-20 minutes throughout the evening. Full shuttle details are available on the Botanical Garden website.
This festival aims to be a community and family-focused signature event to kickoff the holiday season. Kim Shipp, director of the garden is confident “that it will fast become a family tradition.”
The Merry and Bright Holiday Light Festival is made possible thanks to a number of sponsor partners, including Canadian Energy, Friends of Memorial University Botanical Garden, Take Charge NL and 99.1 HITS FM.
To purchase tickets and for event information, please visit MUN Botanical Garden’s website or email the garden.
