SUBJECT: Memorial University to present 36th annual Alumni Tribute Awards

Dr. Gary Kachanoski, president and vice-chancellor, Memorial University of Newfoundland, will host the 36th annual Alumni Tribute Awards tomorrow, Thursday, Sept. 7, at the Sheraton Hotel Newfoundland in St. John’s.
A reception begins at 6 p.m. and the awards ceremony begins at 7 p.m.
Memorial’s Alumni Tribute Awards are the highest honour bestowed by the alumni body on Memorial graduates who've made tremendous contributions at home and around the world.
The honourees are as follows:
- Catherine Courage, B.Sc.(Hons.)’97, Alumna of the Year Award;
- Gary Follett, B.Eng.’75, J.D. Eaton Award for volunteer contribution to Memorial University;
- Darlene Spracklin-Reid, B.Eng.’95, B.Ed.’04, Outstanding Community Service Award; and
- Dr. David Kelleher-Flight, B.Mus.’04, Horizon Award for exceptional achievement by a Memorial graduate 35 years of age and younger.
Media agencies are invited to attend. While parking is free, event attendees will need to enter their license plate number and parking code (alumni) into the tablet parking kiosk located inside the hotel in the pre-function area on event day to ensure you are not ticketed.
