SUBJECT: Memorial University to host conference focused on cannabis industry

Memorial University will host a conference focused on the developing cannabis industry this week.
The Year of Legalization: Challenges and Opportunities in the Cannabis Industry will be held on Tuesday, April 24, from 1-4 p.m. in the Faculty of Business Administration in BN-1010 and the RBC Atrium.
The conference is being hosted by the business faculty, the Office of Public Engagement and Memorial University’s Botanical Garden.
The half-day forum will offer the opportunity for researchers at Memorial as well as key stakeholders in government and the industry to become better informed about the research, business, health and educational opportunities and challenges associated with pending legislation from the Government of Canada that will legalize the production, sale and use of marijuana for recreational purposes.
Presentation topics include legalization and regulatory framework, the business of cannabis, commercial cultivation and cannabis and health.
