SUBJECT: Marine Institute to mark construction milestone at Holyrood Marine facility and announce future plans

The Fisheries and Marine Institute will celebrate the completion of the latest phase of construction at its Holyrood Marine Facility and announce plans for future development at the site on Friday, Oct. 6, from 1-3 p.m.
The event will take place at the Holyrood Marine Facility, Northside Road, Holyrood, N.L.
The event will include remarks from Glenn Blackwood, vice-president, Memorial University (Marine Institute), Ken McDonald, member of parliament for Avalon; Christopher Mitchelmore, minister, Department of Tourism, Culture, Industry and Innovation; Gary Goobie, mayor, Town of Holyrood; and Gary Corbett, chief administration officer, Town of Holyrood.
Vessel tours and demonstrations in ocean technology and safety and survival will also take place.
Members of the media and the public are welcome to attend.
