SUBJECT: Marine Institute to hold Remembrance Day ceremony

The Fisheries and Marine Institute (MI) of Memorial University will hold its annual Remembrance Day ceremony on Friday, Nov. 10, at 11 a.m. to commemorate those who served in the armed, navy and merchant navy forces in the world wars.
Dwight Ball, premier of Newfoundland and Labrador; Chancellor Susan Dyer Knight, Memorial University; Nick Whalen, member of Parliament, St. John’s East; and Debbie Hanlon, councillor, City of St. John’s, will participate in the laying of wreaths.
Students, faculty, staff, alumni, media and members of the public are invited to attend.
The ceremony will take place at the Merchant Navy Memorial located in front of the institute’s Ridge Road campus in St. John’s.
