SUBJECT: Dr. Gwynne Dyer to deliver Galbraith Lecture at Memorial University

Dr. Gwynne Dyer is the speaker for Memorial University’s 2017 John Kenneth Galbraith Lecture in Public Policy.
The event will be held this evening, Monday, Sept. 11, from 7-9 p.m.
His address, The Trump Era: Surviving the Populist Wave, will explore how populist governments worldwide and a rapidly changing global economy are rushing to collide head-on.
Dr. Dyer is a Memorial alumnus and internationally renowned freelance journalist, columnist, broadcaster and lecturer in the area of international affairs. The Galbraith Lecture, an initiative of the Office of the President, the Harris Centre and Alumni Affairs, brings to Memorial University outstanding figures whose work reflects their commitment to excellence in scholarship and public affairs. This year the lecture is being held to coincide with reunion activities at Memorial.
While the event is currently sold out to members of the public (over 900 tickets sold), media representatives are invited to attend.
