SUBJECT: Memorial University-invented equipment to be tested in world's largest flume tank

Media representatives are invited to attend the testing of new surface trawls, invented by Memorial University researchers to monitor marine plastics, tomorrow, Wednesday, July 13, from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. at the Marine Institute’s flume tank.
An interdisciplinary research team led by Dr. Max Liboiron, Sociology; Dr. Paul Winger, Marine Institute; and Dr. Josh Lepawsky, Geography; along with undergraduate students from Canada, the United States and Iceland, will test the new equipment as part of their work with the Civic Laboratory for Environmental Action Research (CLEAR).
Media representatives are asked to confirm their attendance by email.
The Marine Institute is located at 155 Ridge Rd. in St. John’s and is home to the world’s largest flume tank.
