SUBJECT: PSA: Public invited to Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science open house
DATE: March 12, 2015
Memorial University’s Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science will host a public open house as part of National Engineering and Geoscience Month.
The family-friendly event will take place in the Engineering building on Memorial’s St. John’s campus on Saturday, March 14, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
The open house will begin in the main foyer of the Engineering building with information booths and guided tours of its working laboratories. The whole family will enjoy learning about the real-world applications of engineering. Tour our working laboratories and learn about the latest manufacturing techniques in our 3-D Rapid Protoyping Laboratory or visit our Structures Laboratory where we make things to break things! See our 58-metre towing tank and much more. Kids will definitely want to meet our humanoid robot, Nao, who will dance with them and tell them all about the cool world of engineering. There will be prizes, too!
Visitors can also learn about the academic programs and the faculty’s research activities.
Admission is free and there is free parking in lot 16A, west of the University Centre.
Representatives from the media are invited to attend.
