SUBJECT: Memorial University set to honour special alumni

Dr. Gary Kachanoski, president and vice-chancellor, Memorial University, will host the second annual President’s Golden Celebration on Sunday, Oct. 26, beginning at 7 p.m., in the D.F. Cook Recital Hall in the School of Music. The event honours alumni marking 50 years or more since graduation from Memorial.
Dr. Kachanoski will be joined by Dr. Noreen Golfman, provost and vice-president (academic) pro tempore, who will be the master of ceremonies. The celebration will include a number of musical performances.
In attendance will be a number of alumni marking special anniversaries, including Ms. Victoria Badcock. At 100 years old, Ms. Badcock is celebrating the 80th anniversary of her graduation. In 1934, Ms. Badcock was one of the first graduates from what was then called the Home Sciences program at Memorial University College.
Parking is available in lots 15B and 15 near the School of Music.
