SUBJECT: PSA: Two writers with Memorial connections on CBC Bookie Awards shortlist

Two writers with Memorial University connections are in the running for the CBC Bookie Awards 2014.
English department faculty member and poet Mary Dalton is shortlisted for best Canadian poetry for her acclaimed 2013 collection Hooking.
Novelist Lisa Moore, a regular instructor in the Department of Englishs creative writing program, is nominated in the fiction category for her Giller Prize -shortlisted novel Caught.
The national broadcaster has identified a handful of books they feel were among the very best of 2013. Now they want Canadians to weigh in and vote for their favourite books in each category.
Voting closes on Wednesday, Feb. 5, at 11:59 p.m. EDT; the winning books will be revealed on Thursday, Feb. 6.
