SUBJECT: Memorials Health Research Unit celebrates 20th anniversary

Media representatives are invited to attend the 20th anniversary celebrations of Memorials Health Research Unit (HRU), taking place Wednesday, Nov. 7, from 12-2 p.m. at Bally Haly Country Club.
The Health Research Unit, part of the Faculty of Medicines Division of Community Health and Humanities, has been engaged in community-based research for two decades. The event features displays of ongoing and past projects, and members of the HRU will be available for interviews.
Doors open at 11:45 a.m., followed by opportunities to view displays and talk to researchers. The guest speaker during the lunch is David Vardy, professional associate with Memorials Harris Centre and former deputy minister of fisheries with the provincial government. Bruce Cooper, deputy minister, Department of Health and Community Services, and Dr. Gary Kachanoski, president and vice-chancellor, Memorial University, will also be in attendance to bring greetings.
