SUBJECT: Master mariners hosting maritime human resources seminar

The Company of Master Mariners of Canada is holding its Fifth Annual Maritime Human Resource Solutions Seminar from September 26-27 in Hampton Hall at the Marine Institute, Ridge Road campus.
Thomas Hedderson, minister, Transportation and Works will provide welcoming remarks at 9:20 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 26, followed by keynote speaker Dr. George Politakis, International Labour Organization.
This two-day seminar will focus on Maritime Labour Convention (MLC) 2006 Compliance, with respect to crewing agencies, preparation and implementation challenges, seafarers’ welfare and maritime education and training.
