SUBJECT: Marine Public Education Program to re-open at Ocean Sciences Centre, Logy Bay

The Department of Ocean Sciences Marine Public Education Program will re-open Saturday, June 1, and will run until Labour Day weekend. The program, which is located at the Ocean Sciences Centre in Logy Bay, is a complimentary interactive and interpretive outdoor activity for tourists, school children and local visitors.
Features of the program include an outdoor touch tank where visitors can experience a never-ending variety of local marine life, an outdoor observation platform to view a captive population of harp seals and Memorial University students working as marine interpreters to answer questions about the marine environment, animals, history and current research initiatives at the facility.
The program operates seven days a week from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. There is no charge for visitors, but a donation box is available.
