Distance Education and Learning Technologies (DELT) is officially launching its celebration to honour Memorial’s 40 years of distance education service to the province.
On Oct. 21, outside of the G. A. Hickman Building at the St. John’s campus, DELT will mark the launch with a display that both acknowledges the unit’s four decades of service and pays tribute to all distance education students. The unit attributes its longevity to the growing number of learners it supports - there are currently over 500 exam locations in this province alone, in addition to the numerous others throughout Canada and around the world.
A photo opportunity will be available between 8:30-9 a.m. on Oct. 21 on Prince Philip Drive, outside of Memorial University’s G.A. Hickman (Education) Building.
DELT will continue to celebrate its 40th anniversary over the next year through marketing and communications efforts. The campaign aims to build awareness of the institution’s history, as well as its unique position of providing access to an online education supported by the credibility of a residential university.
