PLEASE NOTE THE EVENT DESCRIBED BELOW HAS BEEN CANCELLED.
The Fisheries and Marine Institute of Memorial University of Newfoundland will hold a news conference to officially open its new marine base in Holyrood on Tuesday, June 22 at 1:30 p.m.
Keith Ashfield, Minister of National Revenue, Minister of the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency and Minister for Atlantic Gateway, will be on hand to open the new facility along with Derrick Dalley, secretary to the Minister of Education; Dr. Christopher Loomis, president pro tempore, Memorial University; Gary Goobie, Mayor, Town of Holyrood and Glenn Blackwood, executive director, Fisheries and Marine Institute.
A tour of the new facility and reception will take place after the ceremony. Media agencies are encouraged to send representatives to this event.
