SUBJECT: Grenfell PSA: Grenfell Opera Series to present The Flying Dutchman

The Grenfell Opera series is pleased to announce the showing of the next opera, Wagner's Der Fliegende Holländer (The Flying Dutchman).
The opera will be shown Sunday, April 5, 7 p.m. in FC2014.
It is a strange and dark story about a Dutch sea captain who is condemned to wander the world as a ghost for having previously broken a promise while alive. He can attain rest for his beleaguered soul only through the love and devotion of a woman. We will be showing the highly acclaimed 1985 Bayreuth production, directed by Harry Kupfer. Dr. Ron Richards will provide the introduction. Refreshments will be served and admission is free.
Other operas are planned for April and maybe May.
