SUBJECT: Memorial University researcher will speak on nutrition in Newfoundland and Labrador

Next week during a special lecture, a well-known Memorial University researcher will take a closer look at what’s on our dinner plates and in our lunch bags. Dr. Barbara Roebothan, associate professor, Department of Biochemistry and Faculty of Medicine, will speak on the topic Nutrition Newfoundland and Labrador: What do we really eat? on Wednesday, Nov. 23 from 1-2 p.m. in Room SN-4015 on the St. John’s campus.
One of Dr. Roebothan’s main areas of research is community nutrition. In the past number of years she was involved in a provincial survey on what people eat which involved training researchers to do 2,000 interviews in Newfoundlandand Labrador.
Media agencies are encouraged to send representatives to the lecture.
