SUBJECT: Memorial University hosts community forum on athletics

Note to editors:
Memorial University of Newfoundland is holding a public forum with special interest groups and sport and community organizations Jan. 17 to discuss a new study that examines the reporting relationship and funding mechanisms of its varsity athletics program.
Now is the Time! was recently completed and submitted to Dr. Eddy Campbell, Memorial’s vice-president (academic). A copy of the report is available at www.mun.ca/vpacademic/varsity_athletics.php.
Dr. Campbell has already hosted an internal university forum with the School of Human Kinetics and Recreation, along with staff, coaches, students, varsity athletes and other internal units with sport responsibilities.
This month’s public forum takes place Tuesday, Jan. 17 from 6-8 p.m. in room IIC-2014 in the Inco Innovation Centre. Parking is available in Lot 18, next to the QE II Library, free of charge, or alternatively in Lot 17, directly in front of the Inco Innovation Centre for a $2 charge.
