SUBJECT: Local leaders will discuss their passions at upcoming conference

Memorial’s business students will ask burning questions and discuss hot topics with local leaders at The Power of Passion conference on March 24. Speakers including former premier Brian Tobin; Bill Barry, president of the Barry Group of Companies Inc.; Debbie Hanlon, president of Coldwell Banker Hanlon; and Judy Sparks-Giannou, president of Maxxim Vacations will share how their passions have led them to success. Local TV show host Krysta Rudofsky will moderate the discussion.
The Power of Passion will take place from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Friday, March 24, at the Fairmont Newfoundland Hotel and will feature a full-breakfast and a panel discussion. This half-day conference represents the 41st annual Business Day conference, an event organized and implemented by the graduating class of the bachelor of commerce (co-operative) program at Memorial’s Faculty of Business Administration.
“Business Day has become a valuable tradition for students at the Faculty of Business at Memorial,” said Dr. Gary Gorman, dean of the business faculty. “The students who organize and attend Business Day represent our future leaders and executives. This conference features some of the region’s most dynamic speakers who will help us all think critically about some of the issues facing people in Newfoundland and Labrador.”
