SUBJECT: PSA: Operation Toys for Kids kicks off at Memorial University

Once again this year, Campus Enforcement and Patrol, in collaboration with The Muse, MUNSU and CHMR, will be kicking off their annual Operation Toys for Kids. This year’s event will be launched at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 10, in the main dining hall, R. Gushue Hall, on Memorial’s St. John’s campus. Campus Enforcement and Patrol will be joined by Memorial University President Dr. Axel Meisen and special guests, including NTV’s Toni Marie Wiseman, who will be broadcasting live to help kick off the event.
Organizers receiving the toys ask that gifts not be wrapped. Donations for the toy drive can be dropped off from Nov. 10 up to Dec. 13 at any of the following locations:
- Campus Enforcement and Patrol, Facilities Management building, Phelan Road, FM-1018
- The Muse, University Centre, Arctic Avenue, UC-2002
- MUNSU office, University Centre, Arctic Avenue, UC-2000
- CHMR radio, University Centre, Arctic Avenue, UC-2009
Operation Toys for Kids began in 2001. That year Campus Enforcement and Patrol teamed up with the students of Paton College and collected about $1,500 worth of toys. Last year, they joined forces with CHMR and The Muse and expanded the drive across campus, including the Health Sciences Centre and collected about $5,000 worth of toys.
