News Release
REF NO.: 195
SUBJECT: PSA: Media and Culture Screening and Discussion Series continues at Memorial
DATE: February 8, 2005
The Departments of Women’s Studies and Philosophy at Memorial present the film Hijacking Catastrophe: 9/11, Fear and the Selling of the American Empire. The screening will take place on Thursday, Feb. 10 from 12-2 p.m. in the Science Building, room SN-2018. Released shortly before the 2004 US election, this documentary places the Bush administration's false justifications for war in Iraq within the larger context of a long-standing, neoconservative agenda to dramatically expand US power globally by means of military force. Following the screening there will be an open discussion with facilitator Dr. Robin Whitaker of the Department of Anthropology. All are welcome and admission is free.
