SUBJECT: Memorial University to launch Atlantic Canada centre of the Canadian Century Research Infrastructure

On Monday, Dec. 6, 2004, Memorial University, in partnership with the Newfoundland and Labrador Statistics Agency of the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador, will launch the Atlantic Canada centre of the Canadian Century Research Infrastructure (CCRI). The CCRI is a five-year pan-Canadian initiative to develop national databases from manuscript census records for the 1911 -1951 period.
The launch will begin at 4 p.m.on the 3rd Floor, West Block, Confederation Building. Media agencies are encouraged to send representatives. A reception will follow. General parking is available at the West Block.
