Note to editors: The Media and Culture Screening and Discussion Series continues at Memorial University on Thursday, March 10, starting at 12 p.m., with Wrestling With Manhood: Boys, Bullying and Battering. The screening will take place in the Science Building in room SN-2018. What do our pop culture products say about what it means to be a man in today's society? Why is professional wrestling so popular and what does its popularity say about us and the world we live in? What does it say about contemporary masculinity and how boys learn to become men? The film contains violent physical and sexual imagery, viewer discretion is advised. An open discussion follows screening. All are welcome, admission is free.
