About GivingTuesday

What is GivingTuesday?   

GivingTuesday is a global movement that inspires generosity and kindness. Following on the heels of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, it kicks off the giving season and encourages people to do good in their communities.   

Memorial has been participating in GivingTuesday since 2015. Since then, alumni, faculty, staff, students and friends have raised over $520,000, showing that, together, we make a real difference for our students!   

What is the Thriving Student Fund ?

The Thriving Student Fund was created as a priority fund for GivingTuesday to provide funding as needed, where needed for students. Whether they need short-term emergency support, or by empowering their success through scholarships and bursaries, this fund helps students to achieve academic and personal success during their time at Memorial University.    
   
All donations to this fund support undergraduate and graduate students across all campuses, increasing access to education and providing financial support so that students can focus on their studies.
