Alexander Murray Club

The Alexander Murray Geological Club is Memorial University's Earth Sciences Undergraduate Student Society!

Located in the Alexander Murray building, room ER-4068, The Murray Club is a happening society room, complete with foosball tables and comfy sitting area. It is a place where students can sit, have lunch, and relax between classes. The room is shared with Computer Science society, and mixers are held throughout the semester. The executive consists of 8 members; president, vice president, treasurer, secretary, academic rep, social rep, sports rep, and student rep.

Earth Sciences students are actively involved with the geosciences community. We take part in and volunteer for events with the local Canadian Institution of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum (CIM), and Geological Association of Canada (GAC). Each year GAC-NL runs an open field trip in Newfoundland. There are two major conferences that the group fundraises to attend; Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) Trade Show and Conference, in Toronto in March, and Atlantic Universities Geosciences Conference(AUGC) in October.
