Research

The Department of Biochemistry offers a range of shared equipment rooms equipped with modern tools accessible to all department members. These facilities ensure that both students and faculty have the resources they need for advanced research and hands-on learning.

Through the Core Research Equipment and Instrument Training (CREAIT) Network, researchers have access to a wide array of specialized equipment, including CE, CE/MS, LC/MS, GC/MS, FTIR, Flame and Graphite Furnace AA, MALDI-ToF MS, API-MS, NMR, X-ray Crystallography, and ABI DNA Analyzers. These tools support cutting-edge research across multiple fields of study.

For projects involving marine biology, the Department of Biochemistry can arrange access to the excellent facilities at the Department of Ocean Sciences. Additionally, many faculty members hold cross-appointments with the Faculty of Medicine, fostering collaborative projects and sharing research spaces. The Queen Elizabeth Library is also a valuable resource, offering extensive facilities for study and research.
